Y’all, I’ll admit it. I am waayy behind in blogging. This summer was crazy {in the best of ways} and as much as I wanted to keep up with it, it just didn’t happen!! I’m working on it now though! In the meantime, I’m just going to enjoy reminiscing about the beautiful summer we had here in Missouri!
One of my favorite sessions from the summer was the oh-so-adorable family I’m going to share with you today. The Rosbrugh family is one of our Family Reps and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be able to work with them. Their love for one another and their passion for life truly encapsulate everything that I want Kairos Photography to represent! Bright and beautiful, honest and unique. These five people have not only an incredible family, but also an incredible story to tell. So without further ado, meet The Rosbrughs.
Isn’t it obvious how much they love each other? Gah, it’s been 3 months and I’m still kind of obsessed with their images. The bold colors, the sweet smiles, the girly giggles. Love, love, love. Derek and Kara are amazing parents to their three littles and it shows. And let’s be honest, it doesn’t get much cuter than these three girls…
Cylee is 4.5 and is the perfect mix of spunk and sweet. With her hands-on-hip pose and her eagerness to show off her dance moves, she was so much fun to photograph. And even though I only spent an hour with her, it was obvious that she’s a fantastic big sister.
Cylee and Gabee are only 9 months and 15 days apart {whew!} and their sisterly affection is contagious. They told me. ” We’re best friends. Except for that one time when we broke up. Because Cylee was being mean. But then we got back together.” Hahahaha!!
Gabee is about as sweet as they come. She’s so full of light and joy and her smile radiates that beautifully. Don’t let the sweetness fool you though, she’s a fighter and has fierce determination behind those blue eyes!
When Kara was 8 weeks pregnant with Gabee, she began bleeding due to a tear in her placenta. After a scary pregnancy and spending 6 weeks in the hospital before she delivered, Gabee was born at 28 weeks, weighing only 2 lbs 10 oz. She spent 2 months in the hospital and came home on all sorts of monitors and machines. When she was 9 months old, she was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Almost 4 years later, she’s a shining example of life in the midst of struggle. When I think of my time spent with her, the only work that comes to mind is JOY. She exudes it!
Gabee can’t walk yet, but she doesn’t let that stop her from keeping up with her sisters! Later this fall, she’ll be undergoing an extensive surgery to try to help her walk!! So many prayers with her and the Rosbrugh’s as they continue to take this journey!!
And finally, meet Miss Makenzee. She’s now 8.5 months and has the biggest, bestest smile!! I love me some chubby happy babies and Makenzee totally fits the bill. She was 100% willing to give me her best smiles during the entire session and that sure made my job easier. What a gift I know she is to her mama and daddy {and her sisters too!}.
All three of these girls are going to grow up knowing the love of Jesus and the fierce love of a family who fights together, who plays together, whose joy is infectious! Thank you Rosbrughs, for being our family reps in Springfield this year, and for letting me have the honor of capturing your truly beautiful family!!
