It was a lovely April day. Carolyn was calm and as sweet as ever. Nick was ready to meet his bride. Together, they were surrounded by their dearest family and friends in the places that hold such significance for Carolyn’s family and their Italian heritage. From the start of the morning with prep at The Chase Park Plaza Hotel to the beautiful ceremony at St. Ambrose on the Hill to the evening filled with good food and laughter at Rose of the Hill, the entire day was a nod to a beautiful couple, their familial roots, and the ones they are now planting themselves. Their invitations said, “Love is friendship that has caught fire,” and it was such an honor to be able to document their love for one another, burning and glowing all day long.
Carolyn had a gorgeous lace gown and a stunning head piece to match. Also, those navy pumps are on point.
Their flower girl, Violet, was such a charmer all day long. She’s a doll and was right in the middle of the prep, loving every minute with her aunt and their princess dresses!
After the ceremony, we spent some time taking photos on The Hill. Carolyn’s family is Italian and has such a rich heritage that is centered around this incredible section of St. Louis. It was so fun to be able to photography some of that for them that day!
We finished the evening at Rose of the Hill, where they had an amazing Italian family style meal…and can we talk about that toasted cannelloni?! I also loved the mercury glass floral centerpieces on the head table!
Toward the end of the evening, we snuck out for a few quick night photos. I love that the pressure is off for these; the couple can have a few quiet minutes to enjoy together as newlyweds. Plus, Rose of the Hill has a pretty cool marquee sign!
Nick + Carolyn, thanks for inviting us into your day! It was a joy to see the love you’re surrounded by and to know that your story is just beginning! Wishing you many blessings and lots of toasted cannelloni in your future! 😉
