If there’s one word I’d use to describe Kris + Meghan’s gorgeous February wedding at Windows On Washington, it would be legacy. Every part of their navy + gold affair pointed toward their family, their heritage, the legacy left behind by others, and the legacy that Kris + Meghan will build together. Every member of their bridal party was a member of their family. They were surrounded by the ones they love most and it was incredible to see the bond between both families. Meghan’s mom passed away when she was young, but there were glimpses of her legacy in every aspect of their day. The watch and ring that Meghan wore that were once her mother’s, the moment of silence in the ceremony; each a nod to Laura’s life and the love that she had, now living on in her children.
Meghan + Kris are perfect for each other. It’s obvious that they are each other’s best friends, the complement to all the other person needs. More than that, it’s clear that they are incredibly well-loved by so many others. It was amazing to see all of the people who came together to share in their celebration. There was much joy, countless stories of their journey together, and an overwhelming sense of support for the covenant these two were making with one another.
As for the day itself, we couldn’t have asked for better weather! It was February in St. Louis, which means we should have been freezing our butts off! Instead, it was gorgeous and 75 degrees, sunny and perfect in every way! Meghan did an amazing job assembling details that made her vision come alive. We started the day at The Magnolia Hotel for prep + detail shots, which included her amazing lace, fitted gown. I’m also in love with Kris’ navy monogrammed suspenders. And I’ve always adored Meghan’s stunning ring, which Kris helped design!
I’m a huge advocate for first looks. It makes such a difference on a wedding day and provides the opportunity for the bride + groom to spend a few moments together away from the chaos of the day. And this first look was one of the sweetest to date.
I love their genuine affection for one another. Their honest emotion. I love that they so evidently love each other.
Belli Fiori did such an amazing job with the florals. I’m still swooning over these anemones! And the champagne sequin dresses!
Their ceremony + reception were both held at Windows on Washington, which is a gorgeous venue and was the perfect space for their family oriented wedding. The ceremony started with a harpist to usher everyone down the aisle. Another perfect touch to their day!
Kris + Meghan had an agreement to not smash cake in each other’s faces…Kris obviously didn’t keep up his end of the bargain. But let’s be honest, this was pretty epic. And hilarious.
Kris + Meghan, it was such a joy celebrating with you! What an incredible day + incredible testimony to your love and the legacy you’re cultivating together!!
