The Vineyard at Riverbend Chapel Wedding | Ryan + Megan

FILED IN: weddings

You guys. We cannot stop smiling about this wedding! Ryan + Megan could not be more perfect for each other and everything about their day was just about as perfect as they are. These two have such a sweet love story – meeting in physical therapy school, falling in love in between studying and lots of coffee, I’m sure, a one-of-a-kind proposal, and a beautiful day to make a lifelong commitment to one another – trusting Jesus every step of the way. There is something so sweet and gentle about their love. It’s the way Ryan looks at Megan, the tenderness he displays over her as he pulls her in close. It’s the way Megan lights up the moment Ryan walks in the room. A full-face, radiant, infectious joy. It’s the way they choose to put Jesus first, the way they’ve allowed their story to be molded by their Creator, they way they invite Him into their precious covenant. I’ve only known them for a year and I already know their love is one for the ages. I can see their kids and grandkids looking at these images and recounting their story over and over again, and I know these two will set a precedent of Godly love in their home and their family, just as their incredible parents did before them. I can’t wait to see where life takes these two world changers!

We started the day getting ready a gorgeous home in Washington, MO. We loved that there was enough space for the girls to be on one floor and the guys to be on another. While the ladies were getting gorgeous with the help of Lyndsey Politte of The Bridal Bar, the gentleman were having a good time downstairs! Megan’s beautiful dress transformed her into a real life princess and that cathedral lace veil was to die for! Pennies are an important part of Ryan + Megan’s story – it’s how Ryan proposed to her and something that they use to mark significant events in their relationship – so it was no surprise that there were nods to this all throughout the day. They each got each other penny themed wedding gifts, like Ryan’s cufflinks, and even their rose gold rings hinted at the copper penny vibe.

Before heading to downtown Washington for bridal party photos, we stepped outside for what turned out to be one of the sweetest first looks ever! Ryan was totally blown away by his gorgeous bride and Megan couldn’t stop smiling! I told you her smile is infectious!! I’m warning you now – there may be portrait overload ahead. I couldn’t help myself with these two!

The original plan was to have their ceremony outside overlooking the bluffs and river, but the 95 degree heat and 100% humidity made that nearly impossible, so they made the executive decision to move the ceremony indoors. Thankfully, the Vineyard at Riverbend Chapel has an equally beautiful indoor space as well! My favorite part of their ceremony was their braiding element! Instead of doing a traditional unity candle or unity sand, these two opted for a totally unique piece. They braided a cord together, symbolic of their coming together, with God, to become one. Such a beautiful moment and something they’ll keep and cherish for years to come!

During the reception, we snuck out to grab a few final portraits before the sun disappeared on us. I’m so glad we did because I adore these images!

Ryan + Megan, thanks again for inviting us into your day! It couldn’t have been more beautiful and I can’t wait for you to see the rest of your images!
