St. Francis Xavier College Church Wedding | Rob + Maggie

FILED IN: weddings

When you meet Rob + Maggie for the first time, you instantly know you’re talking to some of the most genuine people you’ll ever encounter. These two are simply the sweetest duo with hearts of gold! They met in college at SLU so it was only fitting that their wedding day was centered around the place where their love story began! Everything about their celebration was perfectly suited to who they are – the bright, cheerful colors, the intimate and Christ-centered ceremony, the hilarious speeches and the best first dance song choices (Rob + his mom danced to “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”)!

Rob was born in Germany, so you’ll find several nods to his German heritage throughout. One of the highlights of the day was the log-sawing ceremony immediately following their exit from the church. In German tradition,  the bride + groom saw through a log as their first act as husband + wife to signify their labor together. Maggie + Rob were total champs and owned that log!

Another highlight from their day would have to be their blended ceremony at the stunningly gorgeous St. Francis Xavier College Church on SLU’s campus. Maggie is Catholic + Rob is Lutheran, but the ceremony was a perfect mix of both traditions, honoring God and edifying their new covenant together. During the reception, Rob told me how his favorite part of the day was the ceremony. He couldn’t believe that it was so perfectly “them” and that it was such a beautiful way to start their marriage. I love that so much. These two get that the wedding day, though beautiful and filled with details, is just a day. The marriage is what truly makes this the celebration. And I know that these two are going to be celebrating their way through life from now on!

Maggie + Rob, it was an honor to be a part of your day. Y’all are just the best and I can’t wait for you to see the rest of your images!
